Questions and answers
Can I import my existing leases?
Yes. Excel templates cover properties, units, tenants, leases with their schedules, cheques in hand and deposits held.
How is VAT handled on rent?
Each lease carries its VAT treatment. In the UAE, residential leases are generally exempt and commercial leases are standard-rated; confirm the treatment of your properties with your tax adviser.
Does Sijilna register leases with Ejari?
No. You register the contract as today and record its number in Sijilna.
